WHAT MAKES MINI INK DIFFERENT FROM THE REST?

Our photo cards are INDIVIDUALLY DESIGNED by an experienced graphic designer. We do not simply place your baby's face into a template. Our designs are created with your input- you can contribute to the design by suggesting colours, shapes and style that you think compliments your baby. We use your baby’s photos as a starting point and create a beautiful design around them.

We allow you to make as many changes as you want to the design and will send you up to 3 proofs, ensuring your design is exactly how you pictured it.

SATISFACTION GUARANTEE

We offer a satisfaction guarantee. We are positive you will be thrilled with the final product. If you are unhappy with the final product you receive, we will fix the problem, or offer a replacement.

HOW ARE THE CARDS PRINTED?

All of our cards are printed onto Fuji Chrystal Archive Matt Photo Paper - just like all of your other treasured photos. They are just that, photos! You may then choose to have them mounted to give them a more sturdy and durable appearence.

MOUNTED Vs. UN MOUNTED

UNMOUNTED
This photo announcement is professionally printed onto archive quality matt photo paper. It is exactly like all of your other photos that you would have had printed in the past. On the back are Fuji colour watermarks and a digital file stamp, as well as a small Mini Ink logo sticker. The un-mounted photos are more difficult to write on. If you wish to write your own personal message on the back, we suggest going for the mounted option.

MOUNTED
This custom birth announcement is professionally printed onto archive quality matt photo paper, then mounted onto beautiful ever so slightly sparkly metallic cardstock, framing your announcement and adding a little extra extravagance. The back of the card sports a small Mini Ink logo sticker and is blank for you to complete with your own message.

WHAT APPEARS ON MY CARDS?

As little or as much as you like. Usually some or all of the following:
Photo(s) of you new little one
Baby’s names
D.O.B
Birth statistics (weight/length)
Thank you message
Baby quote. (choose one of ours or do a web search for ‘baby quotes’ for one of your own)

And for invites:
Venue, times, dates and any other personalised piece of info you require.

WHAT ARE PROOFS?

A proof is a low resolution digital image of your announcement you will receive via email. Proofing your announcement is VITAL. Once a proof is sent to print no changes can be made. Once we receive your approval we will send your order to print. By accepting your proof, you are confirming that your print is EXACTLY as you wish it to look. Orders will not be sent to print without your approval.

WHAT IF I NEED YOU TO MAKE CHANGES AT THE PROOFING STAGE?

No problem! We intend to make you happy! We allow for 3 ammendment proofs (each proof can have as many amendments as you like). Any additional proofs will be charged at $15 per proof. See terms and conditions.

HOW DO I SUBMIT MY PHOTOS TO YOU?

Photo's can be sent via email to design@miniink.com.au.
Let me know if you would like to post your photos to me.

MAY I SEND MORE THAN ONE PHOTO?

Yes please, but we usually won't use more than 6 images (one or 2 main photos and some smaller close up detailed ones) Please limit the number of photographs you send to ten or less.

WHAT SHOULD I KNOW ABOUT SENDING PHOTOS?

We prefer digital photos to be sent as jpg format. (If you have it as another format, let us know and we can check it out)

When emailing photos, please send them as ORIGINAL size or as the LARGEST option.

To achieve the best print quality your image can offer, please set your digital camera to it's largest image size. 300 dpi or a pixel size of no less than 1200x1600 is best and on fine if your camera has that setting.

If your image is of very low quality there is only so much we can do to improve it. We cannot be responsible for poor print quality if your image is of poor quality when we get it. If we do not think your image is acceptable quality for print we will notify you.

SHOULD I EDIT MY PHOTOS FOR YOU?

Not at all. We would prefer to have the photo in the largest setting, and in it's original format. We can touch -up, airbrush, improve colour and lighting, remove unwanted objects - you name it, at no extra charge.
If you have any special requests (spots removal, etc.) please let us know.

CAN I SEND YOU PROFESSIONAL PHOTOS?

That is perfectly fine as long as there is a signed release from the photographer and/or studio. They should have them on file. If you are unable to get a signed release, we will work with your own home photos to get your announcement to look great even without professional photos.

CAN I GET A SAMPLE?

Sure, just email us with the word SAMPLE in the subject along with your postal details and we will send a random sample from our gallery to you.

CAN I ORDER ENLARGEMENTS?

Yes. We offer enlargements for orders over $85. Check out our PRICING page for details.

CAN I REORDER LATER?

We catalogue and store all of the designs for easy re-ordering, just send us an email with RE-ORDER in the subject along with your details quantity enlargement request etc and we will be in contact!

ARE ENVELOPES INCLUDED WITH MY ORDER?

No, however, you can order envelopes separately. Check out our PRICING page for details

CAN I WRITE ON THE BACK OF THE CARDS

If you plan to write a personal message on the back of your cards, we recommend choosing the MOUNTED option. This leaves you with a blank space that most pens will write easily on without smudging.

You can write on the back of un-mounted cards but you will be writing on top of the Fuji watermark, and a digital image stamp. Also, many pens will not write well on the reverse of photographic paper.

If you are unsure of which option is best, please request a sample.

WHAT IF MY PHOTO CARD/PHOTOS ARE LOST OR DAMAGED IN THE MAIL?

We are not responsible for orders or photos that may be lost, stolen or damaged in the mail. If you are concerned and would like to insure your purchase please choose Registered post as your postal method. All Registered Post mailings for delivery within Australia include insurance cover to $100. Extra insurance cover of up to $5000 per article can be purchased for $1.10 per $100 or part thereof, up to the $5000 maximum (visit www.auspost.com.au for more information)

WHAT TYPE OF PAYMENT DO YOU ACCEPT?

We accept direct deposit into our account, credit cards (Visa, Master Card), PayPal, money order or cheque. All funds must be cleared before work is commenced.

WHY ISNT PAYPAL ACCEPTING MY CREDIT CARD?

Sometimes is you have set up a Paypal account originally using a different credit card then it won't accept a new/different credit card.
Here are a few options:

  • If you have another email account (one never registered with paypal), then I can send the invoice to that address and it will work.
  • If you can remember which credit card was used to originally register with Pay Pal, you can use that one
  • To use a new credit card, Log into Pay Pal and change the credit card # associated with your Pay Pal account. Go to: ‘my account’ tab, ‘profile’ then select ‘add or change credit card’
  • If you would prefer, you can make direct deposit instead

DO YOU CREATE PHOTO CARDS FOR OTHER SPECIAL OCCASIONS?

Of course ! Photo cards can be created for any occasion such as birthdays, weddings, christenings, naming days, the choice is yours.
